COPE GALWAY IS CURRENTLY SEEKING APPLICANTS FOR:

RECEPTION ? GLENOAKS HOTEL, EMERGENCY HOMELESS HOSTEL

COPE Galway Homeless Service, at its facility in Glenoaks Hotel
provides support to people who find themselves in an emergency
homeless situation in Galway. The service includes accommodation for
emergency homeless through the Cold Weather Response (CWR) programme,
some longer stay homeless who are seeking to move on to a safer and
more permanent solution and an isolation unit for people in homeless
services who are displaying Covid **Apply on the website** symptoms,
are awaiting a Covid **Apply on the website** test or test results.

We are looking for a person to staff our Reception to provide
administrative and practical support to our Project Workers, Assistant
Project Workers, Shift Leaders and Manager, to deal with incoming
calls, admission and care of clients, and to ensure that there are
organised systems in place in terms of office administration.

Given the nature and context of the service CONFIDENTIALITY and
DISCRETION is of the utmost importance. In addition, SAFETY of
residents and staff is paramount and requires a heightened awareness
and observation of all service protocols in this regard.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT SOMEONE WHO:

* Has ideally a third level education in the social care field or
similar
* Is committed to our mission, and who can bring empathy, kindness
and compassion to a very busy and often crisis environment.
* Has experience in an administrative role in a busy setting,
ideally within the social care arena
* Has excellent organisation and ICT skills, as well as an ability
to work under pressure in an often stressful environment.
* Is prepared to participate with the team in the day to day care of
clients including admission to the service, welfare checks, assisting
in the dispensing of meals and generally helping in the overall care
and safety of clients.
* Is committed to working as part of a team
* Experience of maintaining Health & Fire Safety standards,
